Located at the extreme eastern tip of Chongming Island, this wetland conservation area lies along the migratory route of more than 150 different bird species, making it a popular birdwatching destination.
Explore the marshlands by enjoying a walk along the park's many wooden paths and keep your eyes peeled for an abundance of wildlife, like small crabs and even Yangtze alligators (sadly, there are less than 300 left in the wild).
Being on the far east side of the island with no obstructed views, the protected area is also famous for its beautiful sunrises. Bikes are available to rent and ride around the reserve.
