This popular kids’ play centre at Kerry Parkside has two main areas. With plenty of climbing equipment, the front section is best suited for smaller kids and the other is where big kids will keep occupied whooshing down drop slides, playing in ball pits and climbing across ropes.

This Biyun Japanese hot springs branch is packed full of child-friendly activities, including a two-storey jungle gym, trampolines and bouncy castles. It’s enough to make you forget about the baths themselves, but these too are relatively well suited to kids (just be sure to check the temperature readings displayed by each pool).

Baker and Spice, Anfu Lu

Part of the Wagas empire, Baker and Spice gets packed out but is worth braving the crowds for. The menu is full of expected café fare like saucy pastas and fresh salads and sandwiches. Finish off lunch with a sweet treat – the zucchini carrot cake is divine, and while maybe it’s not exactly the way you hope your kids will get in their vegetables, we say it still counts.

While the interior of Jinqiao’s Big Bamboo location has a strong sports bar atmosphere, the place is made family-friendly with an outdoor playground. The menu is loaded up with carb-heavy foods like burgers stacked high, pizzas and tacos. It also has a kids’ menu with smaller portions of the pub fare.
