Debut is, appropriately enough, the debut record from Little Happiness Group, the Voision Xi-led jazz ensemble featuring some of Shanghai's most talented and influential jazz figures reinterpreting a clutch of classic tunes. Xi will be well known to anyone involved with jazz in Shanghai, but for the uninitiated there's plenty of happiness in store here too.
The record is one of the first releases from new label Eating Music, an imprint established by Daily Vinyl's Cookie Zhang and already showing a lot of promise with a strong roster of artists and some great records already.
