Originally along Shaoxing Lu, the owner relocated here when the street underwent redevelopment. Over the 20 odd years it’s been around, the shop has gained quite a number of regulars, mostly older folks who appreciate the old Shanghai vibe of the place. Here, there’s a café that serves up the usual coffees and teas as well as pastries and mains like pastas. As for books, there are many old titles that are difficult to find elsewhere, mostly relating to Chinese architecture, design and history available for browsing (they’re part of the owner Deke Erh’s personal collection), but there are also a handful of Mandarin novels and books written by the owner that are for sale.
