Rockbund Museum has gained a name for itself for all things strange and quirky. Situated in the historic Royal Asiatic Society building at the north end of The Bund, Rockbund Art Museum (RAM) regularly exhibits innovative works from some of China’s biggest contemporary artists including Zheng Fanzi and Cai Guo Ciang, as well as international shows such as the annual Hugo Boss Art Award. Despite renovation by British architect David Chipperfield in 2007, the building still retains the minimalist, Art Deco style of its original 1930s design. A sleek terrace café with basic coffee in paper cups, but unique and excellent views of The Bund, is also available on the top floor.
