Not so long ago DADA’s orientation was twisted 90 degrees to the left and there was a small record shop hidden at the rear of the club. But the transformations continue, and now they’ve knocked down a few walls and turned the space out back into a bare-walled bar called Ruin.
Enter from the coat check area outside DADA, or there’s also a door between the bar and the club. Basically a high-ceilinged cellar with room to stand downstairs and some seating upstairs, it’s got a post-industrial stripped-back thing going, with exposed brickwork and, in places, bare drywall. There’s no music except the thudding bass from next door, and drinks-wise they’re slinging Chinese craft beers by the bottle, spritzes and organic wines, all at around the 50RMB mark.
